"Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit"

Joseph Pilates

Why Pilates?

Pilates is an innovative and safe system of mind-body exercise using just a mat on the floor or a variety of equipment.

It evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates and can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. Pilates builds strength from within and it is a safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best.

Pilates and Health

Pilates is recommended highly by the medical profession, particularly for back pain relief and postural problems. It is also proving a great way to manage stress and anxiety.

Who is Pilates for?

Pilates is suitable for everyone, men and women, of all ages and abilities. The classes are friendly and informal and everyone is made very welcome.

Pilates works in a different way to other fitness techniques in that it targets the deep postural muscles and works by building strength from the inside out. It promotes good posture and can change the way you look, feel and move. Pilates can reshape, rebalance and realign the body, making it longer, leaner and more supple. It is also one of the most effective forms of exercise for achieving flat abdominal muscles!

Pilates 1:2:1

You may find it extremely beneficial to have a 1 to 1 Pilates session.
Pilates is a skill and it can take time and patience to master.
In a 1 to 1 session you will receive my undivided attention. Focusing on your needs at your level. We will address postural issues and ensure you can competently complete the exercises prescribed for you in a safe and effective manner.
It is money well spent and highly recommended if you are new to Pilates or recovering from an injury or dealing with an ongoing postural issue. Costs £45 for a 60 minute appointment.

What do I need to wear?

Comfortable clothing for you, that allows free movement.

What Equipment do I Need?

Bring your own mat if you prefer. I provide basic mats if you do not have one.

It’s always important to stay hydrated so a water bottle is always a good idea.

Why Choose me?
I have been teaching Pilates for over 15 years. My classes are warm and friendly. A chance to connect your mind and body – some YOU time. Clear instruction and options are given throughout the class. I demonstrate the first few repetitions of each exercise then I am up moving about the class, giving encouragement and correction where needed. Small changes in posture and engagement make all the difference in Pilates.
